What the heck is a Nutritional Advisor?!
So I get this one all the time… “What actually is a nutritional advisor….?” My name is Adam Wells I am a Nutritional Advisor, or the term I prefer to use, is a nutritional coach. Now when I say a nutritional coach some people’s reply is then but what do I need a coach for my nutrition for, how hard can eating be?! Well, the truth is; it’s not… But then what do you need a personal trainer for? Why do sports people need performance coaches? Why do people have life coaches, football teams head coaches? You see where I am going with this…..? Nobody needs any coach, but what they can do for you in terms of development and progression is unparalleled.
You could eventually get the same results but the knowledge they provide you with is essential in seeing you achieve your end goals a lot quicker and certainly more efficiently. Plus people spend so much time investing in everything else except their health yet without your health you cannot have fun with your family, work to make money or even just basic stuff in life. Now your prob sitting there thinking ‘But I could lose weight if I wanted, or build muscle’, but my question to you is:
What about all the things around it, such as feeling great, sleeping better, having more energy, fixing stomach issues and managing health-related problems such as diabetes… all of those things a good Nutritional Coach/Advisor can help you with. Now let’s go back to our personal trainer seeing as were looking at the fitness and health industry, people don’t think twice about shelling out £40-70 on a personal trainer. Yet they go to the gym already, know how to use most of the machines, know what a compound movement is and have followed various programmes from different magazines or celebs…
Get the picture?! Nutrition is exactly the same concept. We have all tried the latest celebrity diet, gone low carb, low fat, no fat high fat……I am getting confused just writing about it but the list could go on and on and on….So imagine I told you that you could achieve your goal of, let’s say, weight loss for example, but feel great whilst doing (not like the angry person on no carbs), have more energy, sleep better.

Okay, back in the room!) and perform to best of your capabilities both in the office and in life, whether it be going to that spin class or running around with the kids!!!
So now your starting to understand the concept of what a good nutritional coach is right?
Wrong! It gets even better!
They are there, every step of the way with you, imparting their knowledge to you to achieve your goals with their end goal of giving you the necessary tools in nutrition to pretty much do whatever it is you want in your life.
They workout all the small details that in a busy life we sometimes don’t have time for, personalised diet plans fitting your exact macros (what the hell is a macro again?! Don’t worry. Your nutritional coach can tell you), give you healthy meal ideas and make you an all-round more awesome you!
You also have their full support which is second to none. Everyone loves being told they have done well which is great but it’s the time where you have chocolate all round your mouth and the healthy is off, and you’re starting again next week when they are there to pick you back up, tell you to stop being a kid. It’s one slip-up, pull yourself together and get back on this…
YOU CAN DO IT!
Slightly different from your best mate who says “Yeah sod it, lets go all-out and start next week!!
There’s only one catch here….
They don’t have a magic diet that works for everyone and you will get your goals in two weeks.
Any nutritional advisor or coach who tells you that is lying!!! You’re individual right? Right! So everyone has different needs and what works for one, may not work for someone else.
But like I said; they have a ton of knowledge and will get you there a lot quicker than you could yourself (if you even ever do, with all the misleading information out there) plus, they will find what is right for YOU and fits YOUR lifestyle. We won’t set you up to fail like a lot of diets out there that see quick results but long term, are unsustainable.
